Devlog 0.7

8 September 2022

Welcome to Gotterhavn’s latest devlog, patricians! I hope this finds you well.

Introduction

Let us start with the reminder that our main collection’s minting date is on September 27th 2022. We are holding frequent giveaways of our Aristocrat Rings NFT throughout this whole month to help get more people into the project, and also to give those who have stayed with us an opportunity to get more rings for their own collection. So stay tuned for those events!

Art

I’d also like to update you regarding the main collection’s artwork progress. I have currently 3 characters left to work on, making it around 85% finished. The hardest part of creating the artwork for me is the conception stage. The execution can be later dealt with. But no matter how good the execution is, a bad design is a bad design. Same thing applies to the story. No matter how great the prose is written, if the story doesn’t work, it will not work. Some of the accessories in our main collection have their roots in the Gotterhavn lore itself, like the immuria, which in Gotterhavn is being placed on the face of those condemned to the Grand Chasm for their sins. So I want to do the design justice by pouring my soul and passion into it, and not rushing in, throwing whatever into it to see what sticks. And even after all of that, we still have to go through the QA process to truly curate the artworks for our community. Gotterhavn is deliberately crafted, from its premise, lore, individual stories and characters, architecture, and design. I even managed to write one composition for Gotterhavn, which I might release some time later.

Main Collection

As the minting date is approaching, I feel like it is necessary to explain the minting process of our main collection. We are planning to run the public and Aristocrats’ mint simultaneously. There will be no difference in hours or date, but Aristocrat Rings will have their own supply reserved permanently, meaning that the public will only have 4777 NFTs available to them in total. There is no time limit for this reservation. If an Aristocrat Ring has not been used to mint, it will still retain its supply for ages to come. We will provide a checker system right on the minting page so anyone can check whether a ring still has its supply reserved or it has been used to mint.

I’d like to thank everyone who has supported the project in whichever way they can, from holding their own giveaway event to tweeting on their own accord about the project. It means a lot to us! We appreciate you all.

Kind regards,

June Chevalier
