Orivain
Patron of Wealth and Festivities
For countless ages, Orivain ruled Gotterhavn as a king, the sole patron who built the world from the ashes of a broken realm. He was there in the Beforeworld Era; he was there when it was torn asunder by the raging armies of the Lower Realms; and he was there to revive its former glory. The Godfather is impressed by his work that He bestows upon his domain, Gotterhavn, two accompanying patrons, Isalda and Eirisse, by whose powers the realm could be fully restored. Orivain becomes jealous when his people’s love for the two new patrons grows more intense. Deeply mistrustful of Isalda and Eirisse, Orivain seeks a way to extend his reign, and at last settles on the pursuit of endless wealth. Should he adorn himself with gold, he thinks he might regain his people’s affection.
Years pass, and Orivain returns to his former seat at Ferrendal Heights with immense wealth. To his dismay, he finds Isalda sitting on his throne acting as the new ruler. But Orivain is no violent soul. He scoops all his possessions and announces to the inhabitants of Gotterhavn that he will build his own seat, where there will be no labor, no suffering, and no poverty. He promises eternal festivities and remains true to his words. No one knows how many ages have passed since the banquet at Ascazar Tower, his new castle, first commenced. No one knows where his boundless fortune originates. Orivain does not speak of it; he only laughs in rapture that echoes far beyond the outer reaches of Gotterhavn.
